Cancer, Free Radicals, and the Raising of Lazarus
What causes cancer? What causes rancor? What causes blockages that you can\'t see?
It\'s when parts of the body disagree.
What is cancer?
Cancer is a big black glob concealed in a deep tomb, with an imposing, yet ultimately frail facade rolled over the entrance to cover hidden sin and the deceit that lies within.
Cancer is the pestilence that stalks in darkness, a lump of ice cold hardness to the Word of God, a brittle stone of unbelief enclosed in a white-washed sepulcher, sugar coated to cover its golden calf idols as the black rot seeps through punctured pores pierced by heavy metal.
Cancer is a stumbling block of offense, a hell\'s gate of grief coated in unbelief and harder to be conquered than a strong city. Beneath the that black rock lie multiple weedy cares and stiff-necked tares rooted in bitterness, the stench of sin well fertilized by un-forgiveness.
Cancer is a free radical that wages a coup against the body\'s governing organs. Cancer within the body of Christ is a symptom of disagreement and disunity, a darkness threatening to swallow up the light of Christ which dwells within believers. Suppressed or not, that light remains. If not released, if burns a hole through the bushel that conceals it.
Like unleashed fire in one\'s bones.
Meanwhile the punishing chunk of unburned coal within spreads its soot through the Christmas stocking of the physical wineskin.
What, you say, is cancer?
Cancer is a mummy unwrapped and locked away, left to decay behind chains of doubt, gloom and despair. Woeful mourners bewail poor Lazarus\' demise as the lazy, rusty hinges of yet-unanswered prayer creak pitifully to and fro upon the door jamb.
Once you know it\'s there, how can you rid yourself of the cancer? Four days now the doctors have declared doom. The patient\'s too far gone, they say. The body of believers can\'t seem to come into agreement - either with each other or with their head, Jesus.
Okay, so it\'s time we all decided what we believe - or rather, who we believe: the world system, which says you can\'t be healed without human help, or Jesus, who sent his disciples out two-by-two to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely give, He said, meaning \"Give me your all.\"
Okay, so it\'s time to break your jar of ointment, Mary, and let the hard heart fall apart. It\'s time to run to Jesus, Martha, and ask Him for a miracle. Truth has remained hidden in the tomb four days now. There\'s still time to roll away the stone. True, the stench of those free radicals will stink, but only for a moment.
To bring unity and wholeness to the body, the sin must be confessed, the darkened corpse exposed to the Light of the World, all blinders taken off the body through the Word of God, the two-edged sword that cuts through cancer like a knife.
Yes, God still heals cancer today, especially the cancer of disunity. He wants His body of believers whole, body and soul. The time to believe and to receive it is today.
Hell\'s offense gates cannot stand against a unified church.
