Have you ever felt you were too bad to be saved or too bad for God to use you? Well I did when I was younger. My brother Billy used to feel that way too, however Scripture tells us the stories of many of God’s saints and their sins and flaws. The good news is that God used these men and women in spite of their shortcomings.
One example is Noah. He built the ark and he and his family plus many animals were saved from the flood. Yet one time he got drunk after the flood was over, Genesis 9:21- And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
Another example is Moses, Moses killed an Egyptian, Exodus 2:12- And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. Moses then fled to Midian for fear Pharaoh would kill him- Exodus 2:15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian.
Then there was Rahab. She was a prostitute and yet she is listed in the geneaology of Jesus. Joshua 2:1 - they came into a harlot’s house, named Rahab. You can read the story in Joshua 2:1-24.
As believers we are not suppose to live in deliberate sin. However, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin.
