I begin to ponder all of the stories that this little bit of sand could tell me if it only had a voice; stories of waves and storms, the travels it has been on, the place where it was when creation took place. I ponder, what did this little grain of sand think when God first formed it and put it in it's own place here on earth? Surely this grain of sand has been through much more than I can even imagine. So small, yet so powerful.
No voice or mode of communication, but as I recall, Jesus said that if no one on earth would worship God, the stones would cry out; is this not also a stone? This tiny grain of sand would take over for us if we were ever to give up our worship of God. I listen carefully, as if to hear words being formed by this insignificant rock, but there is nothing.
Now, as I sit here with this new revelation, I realize, at the dawn of creation, when this miniscule bit of sand was placed on this earth, it's voice was greater than the roar of a lion in thankfulness and praise towards God. Thanks be to God for letting a common day annoyance become a new day revelation!
