Paul is mostly the mere deliverer of mail, but every now and then he is not merely be the deliverer but also used as the author of a message. Those pieces of mail makes Paul get up and be excited about each day as He knows God has a personal message for someone and He is going to use Paul to convey His word. Paul never knows what happens to the mail after he delivered it and what the recipient does with it, but the truth remains for each one, there is an undeniable powerful message in the mail, and the question is, what are they going to do with it?
There was one particular incident that Paul will never forget that has made his life worthwhile...Little Luke. Every morning he would be sitting outside on the porch of his parents' house, waiting for their mail to be delivered. Nothing spectacular ever happens except for the quick "hello" from Paul and "Here's your mail for today! Be blessed!" Little Luke would take the mail with a bold "thank you" and run inside his house to deliver the mail to his parents. But one morning, Paul had a special message for little Luke.
If Luke was four years old it would be old, he barely looked old enough to read or write. That is probably why the message was in pictures of Jesus with a little boy sitting on his lap with a crown on his head and in the distance, the mailman delivering mail.
Paul started his usual rounds that morning but when he got to Little Luke's house, the boy was nowhere to be seen. Paul knocked on the door, Luke's mother opened with a tear stricken face. When Paul enquired about the boy, his mother only responded in sobs...
Weeks went by and there was no little Luke. Paul did not even know if the boy received his special mail. Then, as Paul made the turn towards little Luke's house one morning, he saw him on the porch waiting for the mail to be delivered. Paul's heart skipped beats of excitement and relief to see him again. As Paul approached him, the he jumped up and ran towards Paul. Before Paul could deliver his mail, little Luke embraced him in the warmest hug he has ever received and said, "Uncle Paul, guess what?"
"Oh, what, tell me?"
"I was with Jesus and He was telling me about Himself and all sorts of stories about apples, an arc and a rainbow, Him on a cross and He said He loves spending time with me but I had to come back as there was mail for me."
"Yes, and what's more, He said that my mail was from Him and even though I am small, I am big in His eyes. So He wanted me to wake up again, read my mail and decide what I am going to do about it."
"Wow, little Luke, that is big. So did you get your mail, and what are you going to do?"
"Well, for starters, I know now that I am a prince! And you uncle Paul is going to teach me more about Jesus because you are not merely a mailman, you are Jesus' mailman!"
