Good job with the personification of America.

Excellent personification. A very thought-provoking and timely piece of writing which cuts through the triumphalism so prevalent in some Christian circles. I do wonder if it is a little too dark? We know God is merciful, and I'd have liked to see this element woven in to bring hope. Jesus did say the light shines in the darkness and the darkness will never overcome it. That aside, I found it poetic and moving, and the Scripture quotations at the end were very apt.

Sorry I didn't get it. First I thought you were talking about a person, then land, and then a flag. It's probably just me whether it's personification or not it still needs to have a POV from the main thing or character. Just a thought.
